Perceptions of arguments in support of policies to reduce sugary drink consumption among low-income white, Black, and Latinx parents of young children
Friday, July 16, 2021Research published in the American Journal of Health Promotion has found that Black and Latinx parents are more likely than white parents to voice support for interventions like sugary drink taxes that could help parents and communities improve children’s health. This finding is notable because it counters the “regressivity” arguments that public health advocates often face during campaigns to pass taxes on sugar-sweetened beverages.
