Abundant Birth Project framing analysis

During this three-part virtual workshop with Expecting Justice staff and researchers, BMSG staff collaborated with EJ staff to conduct a framing analysis on media coverage of the Abundant Birth Project. ABP aims to address the racial gap in preterm birth by targeting Black and Pacific Islander birthing people with guaranteed, no-strings-attached income. Participants discussed how staff can counter negative stereotyping of program participants, which values can support a positive frame of the project that can move the conversation towards public funding in the future, and how to respond to tough questions about the program. BMSG staff also provided recommendations based on this analysis.
