Introduction to media advocacy

In a presentation to graduate students in the criminal justice law and public health advocacy programs at Touro University, BMSG Health Equity Coordinator Katherine Schaff introduced basic concepts in media advocacy. She helped students understand the news media’s role in shaping debates on community health, and provided an overview of the questions that advocates need to answer before crafting messages or pitching stories to the media.
