Creating an equitable future: How public health practitioners can make the case for a just recovery from COVID

What might a truly equitable and just recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic look like? And what opportunities exist amid the pandemic to invest in a healthier California and address the many long-standing structural, racial, and social inequities that the pandemic has exacerbated? BMSG discussed these questions with the Bay Area Regional Health Inequities Initiative, the Public Health Alliance of Southern California, and the San Joaquin Valley Public Health Consortium. Berkeley Media Studies Group shared research on news coverage of pandemic recovery and recommendations for public health practitioners to communicate effectively about a just recovery.
