Media advocacy for healthier school and neighborhood environments

In this project, funded by The California Endowment, BMSG worked to increase the capacity of advocates and youth journalists to develop effective messaging and raise public awareness about the importance of healthier school and neighborhood environments in California. BMSG assisted advocates engaged in these policy campaigns with message development and framing. We also delivered media advocacy trainings, helped to create an interactive online space for exchanging digital marketing information about food and beverages, and identified trends in junk food marketing to inform local and national policy.
