Consultation with Portland State University on the evaluation of Voices for Healthy Kids, an initiative of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and American Heart Association

Voices for Healthy Kids is a joint initiative of the American Heart Association and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) aimed at reducing childhood obesity. BMSG, which led one of the Voices’ teams aimed at protecting kids from junk food marketing, provided technical assistance to Portland State University (PSU) to help evaluate news portrayals of the Voices initiative and other RWJF efforts designed to promote a culture of health. BMSG assisted PSU with developing its research design and analysis plan. We also reviewed implications of the research and making recommendations for future research questions.
